^^^ this mess is kinda reflected in the CEO's statement.
Quote'I want to remind everyone of our mission. We want to get to 50 million creators and a billion users. And to be a true platform and achieve this ambition, it's really critical that creators are able to use their voice independently. And it's also critical that we have diverse voices on our platform,' he said at the town hall.
'We're not in the business of dictating the discourse that these creators want to have on their shows.'
They have definitely positioned themselves as an anti-censorship type tea. Getting rid of Joe completely could def send a message that they're turning into their more censor-heavy cousins like YouTube . And could make content creators think twice about bringing their edginess to their platform . Which will affect their goal of reaching that 50 million creator mark.
And also it appears Joe is way too valuable to Spotify for them to cut him loose so easily.
Which kinda explains the tap on the wrist.
QuoteEk told employees that podcasts such as Rogan's were vital if Spotify were to get its head above the competition in a crowded streaming field.
from a business perspective its not surprising. i always say these companies will do what's best for business. whether that be to separate themselves from someone like Joe Rogan....or to just LASH them for filth but keep them on board .
they dont do things cuz they love black people so much. or jews or messicans or whatever.
never emotional, always numbers and what they've decided is bad or good for business . is joe still more of an asset than a liability - yes or no.
like any company - if you have an employee bringing you in loads of money and whose absence could cause a huge financial dip for the company's bottom line...ur gonna try to HOLD them. they could come into the CEO's office and damn near SPIT in their face . and the CEO would be like "wow ur saliva smells like flowers!

"
sdssss
getting rid of Joe would basically hit them from TWO directions - one being the immediate loss of what he brings tot hem financially and then the message it would send to wannabe edgy content creators of all races who'd give a

after he's tossed and won't waste their time signing up in fear that the same could happen to them - which would definitely put a whole bullet in their goals to attain a specific amount of content creators.
the business side of me gets it but the negro side of me still want to see his flat ass out on the streets.
