This is a Lifetime film. I don't know why y'all are continuously nitpicking at what was wrong or what wasn't quite right. Y'all already knew what to expect. Giving the circumstances and the network, I say they did an amazing job. It told the story. The rise, the fall and the perseverance.

The timing was so off. Not them bumping to tranet. and referring to Bump & Grind way before Toni even recorded her debut.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

I was like WAIT! why did they refer to Bump N' Grind while she was still at home in the fucking 80's wtf  :plzstop: then the Tran reference in 1992  :uhh:
I noticed that. And that song, by some guy, LA and Babyface were playing back when Toni came in the studio, sounded 2007 at the earliest but was set in 92.Odd.

wat did u think malc :stressed:

I thought - even though beautiful - the actress just did not capture Toni's essence. She does not have that striking charisma and aura, her speaking voice wasn't like Toni's. They didn't even put effort into aging the Toni actress a bit, she looked 23, when she was supposed to be 45 in the final scenes. Also they didn't really show what lupus does to your body and face.

I feel like with such a great actress for Tamar, they could have given that element more depth. I would have loved a jealousy convo between Tamar and Ton'... Her flopping and running back to doo-woping...

More of Toni's iconic moments, her Un-Break My Heart vidya with Tyson, her Grammys, her coming back and getting AMA's etc all over again in 2000, the iconic Grammy dress, her sexual promo pics for VIBE, where she was nude with the towel. Some of her epic moments, were left out.

And overall it was just messy and lacked structure. My mother really loved it though, I guess we as fans just over-analyze.

I was hoping they would show "How Many Ways" (Remix) that was the start of "sexy Toni," IMO and they could've done more with the Secrets album/era too.
