Decatur is a part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.

I've been there and know. Downtown Atlanta is like 15-20 minutes away when there is no traffic.

I literally live in the center/heart of Atlanta .. in the Fairlie Poplar historic district and it's very gentrified . As in, getting very White . It's still a nice lil mixture and the celebration of black history is still intact everywhere downtown but I def walk outside to josh jogging in 40 degree weather with nothing but shorts on.

If anything I feel those outskirt areas like college park bankhead etc are still able to actually better and truly hold on to that genuine down home urban Atlanta flavor and experience . Because a lot of them have yet to be PUSHED out.

If I were a true ATL girl I'd be letting the girls claim those areas because I still feel those are places you can go and really get that ATL feel.
