EVEN that...i don't know it's a tricky topic.....but to me if your parents are not filipino or you do not look asian or you don't know the culture or language you have no business claiming it....

I do believe in researching your ancestry and heritage and being proud of it. Especially if people ask you at times what it is, because some of your DNA  traits are "different". Naturally it will spike curiosity in yourself. And you'd be able to provide an educated answer when the question arises.

On EVERY side of it. Just don't limit your interest of your ancestry to the non-black side. Learn about your strong, African American ancestors and their powerful contributions to this country. I think that's the problem. People are so quick to lean to what's not black. I'm sure no one is out there questioning "American Beauty" about her ethnicity. It's clear which side won that battle by a landslide.
