this is so sad.

the family wants the ride removed
So the dad disclosed his weight (after the incident)... not the child. It sounds like the establishment is trying to throw the employees under the bus, but what are your PROCEDURES for accurately checking that people are 280 lbs or below? Cuz I know y'all not weighing them...

This was purely the PR of the Ride Manufacture's placing the blame on the park and on the kid and making sure it's clear that their ride didn't malfunction.

There should be a scale and signs that clearly state if your fat ass still insists on risking your life the park will not be held accountable for your death

!!!!!!!!! Yea I incorrectly looped them together, but the manufacturer is definitely separate and not responsible. The guidelines are clearly there, it's up to the Park to establish procedures to ensure the weight limit. That's not the ride manufacturer's responsibility... and tbh, we can't blame the employees if they werent given procedures nor given the tools to accurately ensure the weight capacity. This shit is giving Kandi and the Gang

There's really just no nice way to PUT IT. It's about safety... and the only way to ensure it is with scales. Not them expecting these people without high school education to give clinical judgements and guesses on people's weight from just observation.

For some reason suicide came to mind as a possibility and I wanted to rule it out .... But I wouldn't say it's impossible that he may have forced himself to slip out of the ride

I hate to say it . But it def came to mind just as a possibility .

What he said to his friend before the accident  .... and now these investigation findings ...

I wonder how high up they were when he told his friend about him predicting he wouldn't  make it thru the ride and to tell his parents he loves them. Cuz if it were closer to the ground before takeoff why wouldn't he yell and scream for them to stop the ride if he felt he was in danger ? Even a child knows to do that.

If it wasn't closer to the ground and already way up in the air that's understandable .

But then again, some people say stuff like that out of playfulness . Like on a ride that's scary ... "girl we gon die!!!! 🤣🤣🤣" so that's also very possible he was just joking. It's one of those things you'd have to hear for yourself to really assess what the TONE of his voice was when he said it .

for all we know as of now it was a tragic accident .

:uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh:

Guys please don't blame the 8th grade middle schooler his own death. It's giving Aaliyah's and them vs the pilot. The authoritative personnel failed him period.

I said it crossed my mind JUST as a possibility luv.

keywords being just and possibility

I tend to think of every possible scenario until there's some sort of solid conclusion.

I still think it's more likely it was an accident but I'm just not ruling out that possibility completely.

And even if this were the case, it still wouldn't be "blaming" him because there shouldn't be a way for a child to wiggle their way out of a ride to begin with - purposely or accidentally . It would still be on the manufacturers and the park itself.

I read your comment multiple times and understand that you emphasized possibility, but there's just absolutely no way Afro. That child did not consider suicide. Maybe he was docile and shy. Maybe he was too embarrassed and shamed to speak up. Maybe he didn't have a lot of ride experience to compare it to and thought to himself "ok, maybe I'm just tripping." The friends say he panicked IMMEDIATELY after the ascension. It became REAL. At that point he felt it was too late to do anything. That the ride couldn't be stopped. That his screams would be viewed as normal fear screams, not "NO! Really stop the ride! I'm REALLY going to DIE!" screams. He told his friends to tell the parents he loved them because he began to realize and accept death. Not because it was pre-planned or that he was already suicidal and spontaneously thought this was the perfect time to execute. If you watch video then you'll see that he actually damn near made it back. He was forcibly ejected after the ride hit the hard break ON its way down. A suicidal person would've jumped at a higher point while it was slowly inclining. There are no signs or indications of suicide. The fact that he began to panic right after the ride ascended says it all. I know you said possibility but no. There's no possibility.

It's nearly impossible to remove the safety bar of a freefall tower ride. It's very tight to your chest and there's usually an additional lock near your crotch area.

I'm guessing it wasn't properly locked to begin with. Or it simply got loose cause he was way too fat.

Some rollercoasters have this mechanism that the ride can't start until ALL the safety bars are locked, no matter if someone's sitting in there or not.

Nevertheless it wasn't the kid's fault at all. That ride operator is to blame.

u kinda answered my biggest question about this .

Very important part of the story I was missing and questioning.

What you've shared speaks to the timing and the tone of his voice when he made those comments . That's what I needed to know.

If there was indeed a clear sense of panic from the get go suicide def isn't even a possibility.
