I was just thinking.. maybe one record company created this to promote their own artists..but the compilation album is released by Warner and NSN by Atlantic. So it's still a mystery who made this selection.

Where is Shania Twain?

As far as I know Warner is/was affiliated with Atlantic. The NSN release from the first post was distributed by Warner Music Taiwan.
You're right. They were probably just promoting their own female singers. :receipts:
Cause Tori Amos being on there is random as fuck.
Shania was with Mercury which is part of Universal Music.

Ok that makes sense. The cd with different songs was a promo sampler, so people probably got it for free at record stores. The picture of the NSN edition is just on the outside, a sleeve, inside there's a regular cd.

There's a Japanese promo cassette that has the boy is mine II, I thought for a second maybe it would be on this edition but it's just the regular.

Not necessarily. Some of my enhanced CD singles from the early 00s still work. Or you can just locate the mpg files on the disc (for the videos at least). :butwait!:

While we're on topic, can someone PLEASE explain why the Japanese/European editions of albums always had bonus, exclusive tracks?

布兰蒂 (Bu Lan Di) 诺维德 (Nuo Wei De)

:melmel:

QuoteWhy does almost every album have extended edition for japan market?

Imported CDs are cheaper to purchase in Japan than domestic ones. These bonus tracks are placed on the Japanese versions as an incentive for locals to buy the domestic albums as opposed to sending money overseas for imports of the original album. Those same albums that are local there, become our Japanese imports. This happens similarly in the UK, Australia and some Eastern European countries as well.

I'm still mad we didn't get I wanna fall in love. Another day in paradise for Europe made sense because I think Phil Collins is more popular over here.
