I always wonder why they ain't give this to Lil Mo

RAY7

I think Lil Mo was mad at them at this time because she didn't get paid for Put It On Me or I Cry, I believe

Released in 2001
Love is Pain album

QuoteGetting discovered by Murder Inc. Records founder Irv Gotti through his former babysitter, Ashanti had her big break when she was featured on Ja Rule's 2001 single "Always on Time," which went all the way to No. 1. "To be honest with you, I think that song was supposed to be for Brandy, and she ended up not doing it," she said. "And Ashanti came in and alley-ooped!"

I read Full Moon's original release date was November 20, 2001. She probably didn't have time to promote.

that would have been epic! and it was supposed to be a different album cover, a lot was happening in the industry and with B around this time in 2001, makes sense for the release to have been early 2002

Moesha had just ended, I wonder if it was released in 2001 would promo and sales be different?

Didn't know this either. Her 2001 tone woulda been perfect on this. She prob was still tryna maintain that good girl image.

Yes!
Always On Time (Lyrics)

And I love to see that ass in boots and shades
Sprawled out on the bed while I'm yankin your braids
and f-ing you all wild

Ja definitely had brandy in mind,
I'm sure brandy was 3 months pregnant by November 2001 but ultimately YES!

I think her sells  would've been great dropping in November. Sells are usually great for top girls around the holiday season. 'Always on time' was fairly new but was gaining fast. Her sells would be stable going into the new year, with some cute live performances. Brandy missed out big time IMHO.  She needed this hit and started to cater more to the hip hop crowd at this time. This was a Sonya decision im sure.
IDK, Robyn's Back!!!🥂

Yes, I feel this way tbh, it would have later made Afrodisiac make mores sense to some people.

we could have gotten a double platinum status from "full moon" but i'm still great full for its impact.

Yes! I'm glad you posted this again I've been looking forever! lol I miss your tumblr\ :'(

the blue album cover would have been epic af mid 2001

also I feel like Aaliyah's passing would have over shadowed anything Brandy and Monica released at the time mid and end of 2001.

I found a different interview from some time ago
Quote
Always On Time is one of our biggest records. That was really supposed to be for Brandy. She turned it down and I gladly took it," she said. "At that time, I was super early in the game. I didn't know what the politics were, but I was in the studio and they were like, "Yo. Let's have 'Shanti do it." And that was history in the making."

Funny that Ja Rule was mentioned in a text about the making of FM. I always wonder about Neptunes tracks, Bran needs to do some spring cleaning in that music vault.

QuoteIn addition, Brandy also recorded with Babyface, and production duos Soulshock & Karlin and The Neptunes, but none of their songs made the album's final tracklisting.
Rapper Ja Rule was reportedly also involved into the project.

What's crazy about this is that during the sessions with Soulshock and Karlin she recorded the songs Hurts the Most and It Breaks My Heart which eventually went to Monica. The producers had some not so nice things to say about Bran and they snatched the songs from her . I wonder what happened .... :plzstop:  :dead:

For the life of me I just can't understand what she could have done to some white European men that was so bad that they won't give a real reason but to say she wasn't so nice . It' is baffling to say the least .  :shannonsmissing:
