I love it .
im trying to get away from asking generic, filler questions
i think by now we all know that when people ask those questions they may or may not actually care about the answer you give cuz it's super cheesy, and in return, you give you an an equally generic response like "im good

you?"
then of course they respond with the obligatory, "im good

"
it's almost pointless - in most cases. because it's become some sort of quick social dance that we do where we already know all the choreography and exactly how it should go. and it's almost expected that you don't deviate from it in any way.
i think maybe "how are you doing?", etc. is still good for a business setting, where you're really there to get down to the point quickly as possible but being generically courteous/friendly is just part of professionalism. it's a coworker/colleague so unless you have some sort of unusually close connection to them, you honestly don't care about how they're doing. so generic tea is still good for that.
but in other situations, especially when it comes to people you genuinely care about, i think "how's your energy?" or "how's your energy today?" will actually get their wheels turning and they may open up, instead of them feeling as if you expect them to give a quick, generic answer of "good." even if they may or may not feel that way.
