But the album was definitely geared for Europe.

Mathhew didn't want any confusion as to who was the star.

If Kelly or Michelle released a random hit produced by Rodney Jerkins or Timbaland with a fire video it could have muddied the waters.

She had to do something that was not like Beyoncé because they would have been comparing them left and right and Kelly just can't hang with Bey's talent. It's no secret.

I don't think that's a lie. Kelly really was more embraced than Beyoncé in Europe at a certain point..
