he basically took to twitter to post a link to "hebrews to negroes" - which is basically one of those hotep movies claiming that black people are the "original jews" , and the movie also claims that the holocaust is some sort of made up event that never happened. (trailer below)

many are calling it "anti-semitic", while others in his defense are saying he's posting "the truth"

i personally don't feel like he was/is being intentionally hateful and harmful. i don't think his end goal or message was "kill the jews!" . but instead he just strongly believes in and subscribes to something that is totally wrong, and totally not fact-based in any way.

That movie features a  completely made up fairytale that erases and rewrites the real, fact based, science confirmed history of Africans we descend from and morphs them into "egyptians!" , "israelites!" - which in itself is offensive. and in addition to that, dismissing real life consequences of Jewish people who existed in the era of the Holocaust and eras slightly before/after that - many of whom who I know for a fact fled  their home countries in Eastern Europe to America - most likely just to avoid being killed.

I don't think Kyrie is evil or trying to hurt anyone. I just think he strongly believes in something that is not true and he needs to be better educated and informed. He has a right to his beliefs but if I knew him, I'd encourage him to open himself up to the possibility that, based on facts, what he believes may not be real.

i just read about the covid and flat earth mess as i was looking more into him

all things considered, as i learn more about him as a person, it seems like he loves being edgy and against the grain. very "yeah i said it! come get meh!"

whether that's his intention or not .

if u gonna stand on something as a huge celeb at least let it be fact based and real. stand up for black people and our REAL history and struggles. stand up for our women and what they face.

a lot of the hotep mess is actually VERY disrespectful to our african ancestors IMO as it revises and even completely erases their identities and where they came from.

and as u mentioned here, even goes as far as finger pointing at them as if we know what it feels like to be physically enslaved . the nerve of him giving some "oh boy i woulda!!!" speech.

This is sad but unsurprising. 

A growing number of black men believe in these conspiracy theories, a lot of which are adjacent to right wing foolishness that white folks have been pushing for many years. So unfortunately, it tracks that black men are the largest block of our race that supports and votes for conservatives. The kanye's of the world are not isolated. A lot of rappers and celeb black men were all inside Trump's ass during the 2020 election.

It's also about wanting money and power. Hoteps are actually the ones that need to wake tf up.

to be fair, he never actually said it never happened himself  , but the documentary he posted def throws that in there .

But this is what happens when u just share a link to something without any sort of disclaimer or notes about how u feel on some or all of its contents .

It's a complete co-sign . Whether u want it to be or not .  There's plenty of room for people to reasonably conclude that you subscribe to and are actually promoting everything presented in what you shared.

My heart kinda feels some type of way to see a black man having to backpedal on something he may truly believe in .

If he truly believes in something involving the community  , why wouldn't he be passionate enough to put it out there in hopes of informing others?

He says "I can't be antisemitic when I know where I come from". And I could be wrong, but I feel that is coming from his heart . I think he may honestly believe there was an identity stolen and he is reclaiming it .

It's just unfortunate that what he believes in is definitely not true at all. And not only is it not true , it can easily be seen as dismissive and even blatantly disrespectful towards a very hurtful, very real history that others hold very close to their hearts .

Impact will always override intent .

I can see and understand all sides of this , but the facts are just not on Kyries side .

I totally agree with him. Someone simply believing something wholeheartedly isn't automatically intentional hatred and malice. Even if what they believe may be technically incorrect and/or historically inaccurate.

That's why my heart is with Kyrie. These are his beliefs , I don't think he's trolling and I honestly don't think he's out to hurt anyone.
