She's so bitter and lame. No one wants to hear her howling any song let alone "Hello" tears
Is there discrimination in the industry? Of course. But I don't think Adele is a good example for this.
I can admit that I came for Adele for singing Soul and Blues influenced songs and being successful while artists like Jazmine Sullivan aren't but now that I see the bigger picture - I can't be upset at Adele. It's up to black people to support their artists.
Yea, Adele has an advantage because she's white but she has a marketable image as well, IMO. Her success isn't a mystery. Though I don't care for "Hello;" it IS a good Pop song. The lyrics are great, as well. The video is perfect. She had all the elements for a smash hit so why are people mad?

"Oh but black!" plea'
If a black female artist sang the song it wouldn't be enjoyable, IMO. There would be a lot of vibrato, melisma, etc. And I say that as someone who enjoys a good vocal lashing. But "Hello" is good because of it's simplicity. There's even a soft rock feel to it kinda like The Carpenters or Carole King. She really appealed to all people with that song. Y'all acting like only white people stan for that woman

I see/hear so many black people stanning for Adele tbh.
I think we all just need to admit that not everyone finds black artist's style of singing appealing. I used to think "Whew! Jaz' should be way more successful" but her voice is HEAVY and a bit complicated. It's an acquired taste. So the fact that she never crossed over is not a mystery to me anymore.
