Towards the end of season 1 it started to get a bit too slavey, but I can see they had to do that to tell the story and set everything up. I can tell next season is going to be a bit more in the present day.

Hopefully they don't lose me in season 2.

im on episode 2 i like it so far.  one thing i dont like about slave movies and show is the use of the word nigger. i feel in todays time they can get their point across without having to say it.  it makes me so uncomfortable  does anyone else agree ?

I'm not too bothered by the N word in shows like this because it's true to what actually happened. They didn't really overuse it throughout the show
