This just came up while i was scrolling and disgusted me all over again. I like lil Kim but I'll always think she has issues with blackness after this

Like did she explain what was so DIFFERENT? We don't expect actresses to have anything in common necessarily with the characters they're portraying so she could only be speaking of physical appearance.  And Kim let's be serious THIS is ur natural appearance

This is about all the detail she went into. I wouldnt say she has an issue with BlackNESS, moreso people's perception of her. Almost like casting Naturi reset everyone's mental image of Lil Kim as the brown skinned girl that was called ugly, whilst she tried so hard to make herself not "ugly." Its obvious she has a warped sense of self image based on the abusive men in her lifetime, and her trying to be more of what she saw that they liked.. but I don't think she's anti-Black or anything.

I also think she felt very slighted by Biggies mom and the producers that they didnt contact her at all, but wrote some of her story into the script. A combination of it all probably contributed to her disdain for Naturi playing her

Yea it's kinda obvious lol @ May. Maybe some body dysmorphia as well. I think Bow touched on it before, but I feel like she was the first sex kitten, crossover female rapper and the pressure to just look SICKENING (and feeling so far from it inside) played a part..... along with the aforementioned emotional abuse. yea I kinda after thinking about it.  I don't know if someone can do everything humanly possible to completely change their outward appearance from black and NOT be anti-black in some capacity.  I think the same thing about Michael Jackson.
