I love both, but Total felt more authentic with what they were creating. Meelah and them just jumped in the studio and pumped out what they were instructed. Total was so uniquely themselves. Puffy did a great job of helping them find their own lane.

Yeah 702 has been sampled so much more.. And hell steelo was the theme song for cousin skeeter. Team 702

according to whosampled.com Total has been sampled 309 times and 702 only 34

and just checked... total has more top 10 songs on the hot 100 and r&b charts and more certified songs.
Whew glad we got that straight that Total music is better

702's discography is superior and stronger. Total is by far one of the most forgettable acts from the 90s. Kissing You and Loungin are great, but they have more clout from their hip hop / Bad Boy affiliation.
They served 3 East Coast lipstik lezzies in a group, while 702 was the girl group peer to Bran,Mon,and Liyah with quality music to match. Total did nothing special but coo over hip hop knock
