It's too stylized and pretty to be edgy to be honest. It's still the same thing she has done before (commercial), but as far as creative direction and theme she looks lost. What a waste of a budget. It looks very inspired by old European painters like Magritte, Bosch, Dali & Buñuel. I feel like Beyoncé- Be Mine was a great example of using inspiration but also making it modern. I understand the director's references and angle, but I feel like it's such a literal interpretation of these lyrics. I am still confused what she wants us to see, she should have done something more shocking than Lil Nas X honestly. I still think she should have just embraced the pop side.
