The singer formerly known as Charice was internationally known to be a singing sensation, she was on Oprah, sang with Celine and had a role on Glee. She had the potential to make it very big or at least stay active as a big touring artist (cause people loved watching her sing live).
After coming out as lesbian and exchanging the gowns with suits, Charice came out as trans and transitioned to Jake Zyrus. The hormone therapy altered that iconic voice and range forever. This is what he sounds like now:
In an interview Jake revealed how there were 3 suicide attempts while he was still going by Charice, David Foster knew about this and Charice performed the next day after the last attempt as if everything was fine. Super sad to watch the concert now, knowing what had happened the day before:
So ultimately I'm glad Jake chose happiness and inner peace over the career that could've continued but it's still kind of sad that the voice is lost forever. It's just not as impressive with the singnificantly lower range and he mostly only covers songs by male artists now.
