Afro, babe, you're Russian now? 
Now I know it hasn't been that long since I've logged on here and congregated with you girls.



How did you go from Blue Ridge Indian, Mulungeon, East African, Brazilian (just to name a few) to now Russian?

I guess I'm just stunned. This is quite the ancestry.

I hope that wasn't all in vain. 
I had felt a strong connection with you since I recently discovered my native ancestry 

If that was all a ruse, I can't say that I'd be able to get past this.

I never said I marched through any reservation or even traveled anywhere to meet with anyone but I did say I was in contact with a tribal leader who was very welcoming and willing to help me sort things out with the information I had at the time. (Vague and general "Native American" result and a record referencing Blue Ridge Mountains in VA written records by someone who was into genealogy that I was far too trusting of).

I also later admitted on here that I was wrong about my guesses. I took the L on that one, but obviously you missed it.

For a long time, many reports gave me a very vague "Native American" result, leaving me to - once again- shoot in the dark guessing which Native American tribe or area I actually came from.

Such as this one: (Which also picked up my Eastern European/Russian/Jewish DNA)




But with time, the results from other tests got more ACCURATE and PRECISE.

Letting me know I am not North American Native (Cherokee, etc) but instead SOUTH American Native (Brazil).
Which I honestly would have never guessed.





And which also made sense of my  grandmother's DNA - which pointed her roots to Brazil.



So yes, I am of Native descent, but not the kind of Native I assumed, as per DNA.

I've taken a lot of L"s on my journey, but I was not TOTALLY on the wrong track.

Not gone lie, you've really pieced the mess together.

My DNA points to Krasnodar / Russia , Central Asia, and some Middle Eastern.
Which is pretty much what an ethnic Kuban Cossack is.

But you are correct - historians definitely say Ukrainians are part of the makeup as well. And other groups.

Kuban Cossacks have specific ancestry from Turkic groups in Central Asia. In my case,  DNA points to the Turkic group of Uzbekistans.
which makes perfect sense.

Russian Cossack is different. It's a mix of Russian,  central Asian and middle eastern (Israel etc) . Those are the combined genetic markers of a Cossack.

In addition to actually being from Krasnodar - which is a city Cossacks built .

Just in case you've missed me throwing that around for years and years on here.

Honestly I don't feel a need to either separate the African or European mess that came from slave rape and single it out  . That's part of my African-American lineage .

I don't need to "research" or "discover" being African American , I AM African American bdbdbdbdbdb to the core.

All the other stuff is interesting add-ons, but add-ons nonetheless. Extras. Icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

What I'm saying is yes White Russian is included in Cossack ancestry

but Cossacks are an ethnic group from Russia who are a mix of White/Russian, central Asian and middle eastern
