She's right. She gets the nominations tho. Competition was thicker back then.

I was rooting for her hard during the Still Standing era. I felt like she delivered solid body of work.

But to be honest though Aaliyah too was often overlooked in the 90s. Again competition was thicker back then. For them to get those nominations and recognitions was blessing nonetheless though.

You're absolutely right, I remember vividly when she won the Best Female Video award for Try Again beating out both Brit & Xtina. I'm like oh she's a threat.

I still remember when Billboard gave Beyonce a special Hot 100 award for the most weeks in a calendar year at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for a female when Monica had more and someone called them out on it
They admitted to the error but never corrected it(to my knowledge)

Sorry but this is an example of the music industry getting it RIGHT! this isn't jazmine sullivan or india arie  being robbed after they released great material. This is monica and she's the personification of a MID ass artist. Awards are reserved for the greatest pieces of work. Monica ain't EVER been an amazing work kinda girl. SORRY
