im watching the full interview now and honestly didn't get it either when he first said it. what's "hood" about him grabbing food and tasting it? 
am mean, is he throwing up gang signs as he drizzles the hot sauce on his chicken or something?

then Envy makes sure to mention he's "from the hood, but not ghetto".

Keith is so freakin adorable. and whats really "hood" and "ghetto" is DJ Envy associating himself with real estate scammers.

Last time I checked envy is from nyc and New Yorkers don't usually describe themselves as "country bumpkins"

So I don't see how he had that in mind if he was tryna relate to Keith.

As in , you're the "hood" food critic. But there's really nothing "hood" about Keith Lee at all. So I understand why he took it as condescension and a seemingly playful description that actually belittles him and what he does.

I've seen a LOT of people belittle Keith - saying he's not a "real food critic", etc. This was the same thing , just packaged differently. And he clocked it.

There are so many words that have come to my mind when I think of why Keith is so successful. Relatable. Honest. Trustworthy. Down to earth. Foine lolz

I can agree, and I can also read between the lines. Sometimes it's just harder to verbally articulate yourself perfectly in the moment, especially compared to us taking our time in writing a message on a board.
