Quote from: Mongols of Russia on December 27, 2023, 08:26:53 PMBilly is older and def closer to that era where a lot of Black folks were on some "shhhh!! Don't speak too loud ... dont complain too much....gorl we just lucky we here! "

its almost understandable that he carries those feelings and may project them onto others unknowingly.

This would land if he wasn't the one winning an award while telling his co-stars to practically shut up. When the show was about transwomen. And he wouldn't have won anything if it weren't for them. He could have been more empathetic.

But I see your point in regards to Dineva.
not familiar with the ins and outs of that situation but it sounds like more a "gay vs trans" thing going on

and honestly that show wasn't "about transwomen" ...it was about the community in general. Black/Latino gays and trans. it was "about" the ballroom scene.

im actually a huge fan of POSE.

and Billy held that show tf together.

not taking anything away from anyone else because lord knows i love me some Blanca and was so happy she got her flowers.

but yeah.

The transwomen on the show were the leads. It had subplots but it was mostly following the lives of transwomen in ballroom with a majority transwomen cast and 3 gay guys.
it was a show about the ballroom scene luv.

not just about transwomen.

one of the biggest stories of the show was a gay guy being ejected from his home and finding a new home within the ball scene. it's actually how the show started off in season 1.

also, see how its described by Wiki:
very similar to how i've described it - damn near verbatim.

QuotePose (stylized as POSE) is an American drama television series about New York City's ball culture, an LGBTQ subculture in the African-American and Latino communities, throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

hun I'm a POSE stan. trust me on this one.

Project started: 2014 Wrapped up: 2024

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Yes a show about the ballroom scene and centered predominantly around trans women. I didn't negate that. Lol.

Wiki also lists the cast which was predominantly trans. Which can't be disputed and was groundbreaking

Damon was a big part of the show but so was MJ's character. As well as Elektras. Damon wasn't a major character by Season 3.

I'm a huge fan too. I've seen every episode. Several times.

Nine

I don't get why Billy bothers him to this extent. He doesn't really do anything but wear those tattered dresses and sing all the time.

He's extra but so is Funky.

You're parsing words and playing semantics.

I said the show was predominantly (not solely) about transwomen IN ballroom.

If there was a male cast show centered around hip hop I would say the show is about a group of men in hip hop.

This is the logic you're being willfully obtuse about.

I also didn't say 90%. I said predominantly. 60% over 40% would be predominant.

It had subplots but it was mostly following the lives of transwomen in ballroom with a majority transwomen cast and 3 gay guys.
it was a show about the ballroom scene luv.

not just about transwomen.

one of the biggest stories of the show was a gay guy being ejected from his home and finding a new home within the ball scene. it's actually how the show started off in season 1.

sffsfssfssfsfsff

also, see how its described by Wiki:
very similar to how i've described it - damn near verbatim.

QuotePose (stylized as POSE) is an American drama television series about New York City's ball culture, an LGBTQ subculture in the African-American and Latino communities, throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pose_(TV_series)

hun I'm a POSE stan. trust me on this one.

Yes a show about the ballroom scene and centered predominantly around trans women. I didn't negate that. Lol.

Wiki also lists the cast which was predominantly trans. Which can't be disputed and was groundbreaking
cscsncsnscjscnjscjnjsjjjj

so a show that has a predominately male cast, but focuses on hip-hop

is a "show about men", not about hip-hop.

this is kinda ur logic

and the casting was not like 90% transwomen. ur reaching as well

You're parsing words and playing semantics.

and ur playing games.

the show is literally about ballroom culture and ur so hellbent on making it some transwomen soap opera

we went from the show being "about transwomen" to "well, the cast was predominately transwomen"

sfnsffsjnfsjnfsjnsfjsfjf

it's not a "show about transwomen" hun. that is not correct. and thats ok

I said it's a show PREDOMINANTLY about transwomen in ballroom.

I retract saying it's a show about transwomen

I hope you can understand the difference.
and i hope u can understand this receipt.

Hun, how is that a receipt if I am saying I retract that statement

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Well we can end it right here then

Long as that mess was corrected

and btw, saying the "show was PREDOMINATELY about transwomen" is just remixing ur original statement. not making a new , more accurate one.
