She could have easily done those little ad-libs and runs live AND killed them.

I wish she was more confident in her live vocal abilities.

This is the thing I don't get. She'll do Broadway night after night LIVE. Do promo for it performing LIVE. Stand in a football stadium in kill the national anthem LIVE  (and most people lip the NA for the big occasions)

but she just outright REFUSES to sing any of her OWN music live. Like you couldn't go out there and ad-lib LIVE?!?!

I just watched that lil performance and I'm sorry but I'm never going to see brandy live again. This girl REFUSES to give an in the moment, authentic vocal. Everything doesn't need to be some OVERLY produced ass vocal.  I have other words but imma remain respectful smh

The recordings sound so techno. She was only up there for like 1 minute so to not give want to give a live vocal for a minute is a problem.

On the cusp of 45 she should be confident by now. She damaging her legacy & with all the yes ppl in her ear she will never see it.

It isn't like her voice gave out. She could have stayed at home for this & that GMA performance.

I wonder if Silent ever tries to tell her about her lipping. I've heard her say that he keeps it real with her and gives criticism on her performances
But maybe no one can get her out of her own head.
She's determined to add harmonies and layers to everything she does and to pre-record the lead so it's pitch perfect with no mistakes

People can't understand why she lipsynchs, Brandy just has a fragile husky instrument that is not designed to go past speech-level singing. What is amazing is that her skill allows her to defy this condition but only at times and not without effort. I think her mother spoke about vocal fatigue on an article for B7 release.
I'm convinced that her choice to not sing publicly is based on weaknesses she heard (rehearsing) privately.

Brandy looked amazing and for her to perform at the Grammys, even as a small feature, is just a beautiful thing. I hope it will inspire her. I think she looked great and the pre-recorded vocal..sure it looked a bit too staged but I am not even sure if she was in charge, she was just a guest. I think it was a cute appearance.
