I checked Charli because I liked 'Girl so confusing', but am a bit underwhelmed after reading all the positive reviews and comments..it sounds like Kesha meets Twigs meets Lady Sovereign to me...but a lot of repetitive lyrics and songs that sound like they are made for TikTok. The lyrics sound like a diary from a teenager at times.
Girl is probably the best track on there, it's a fun and catchy song. The remix with Lorde is a clever choice. I personally don't like this trend of rambling lyrics, you could actually hear some nice vocals on 'Everything is so romantic' in the chorus but they get lost unfortunately. I do like the creativity in the production on that track. 365 is catchy, lyrics are a bit wild (especially after a more emotional track about wanting kids 😭 but I could see this becoming one of those guilty pleasure tracks )..I like the UK sounds of Club Classics, that's one of my favorites (MIA vibes, what I actually expect from FKA Twigs upcoming techno album). It's confusing: Sometimes the production is very creative and fun, sometimes the repetitive lyrics gets really really annoying.
I only like a couple of tracks, I am not sure if I am the audience for this. I do think a lot of people will like the album, it's pretty cohesive, the aesthetic and uptempo dance tracks will create some hype.
