Senior execs at majors likely frequently look back at the rights they own and see which IP did well & swear they can replicate that box office success now.

This is a classic & Anne, Meryl, Stanley & Emily played off each other so well.

oph.

this is so late. hollywood is so lazy, uninspired and desparate at this point.

It doesn't even feel like it's been almost 20 years :dead:

I hope Emily doesn't touch this. Her career is doing pretty great at the moment.

I wonder what the budget will be for this .

Iger alluded to or stated that they will be scaling back on their budgets.

The sequel gives a Thanksgiving or Christmas release.

Barbie Dangerous

You fags were really gonna sit here and question a movie with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathaway? Anything with them individually shouldn't even be questioned, tf. :uhh:

@Summertime  , I would say 40-75ish to play it safe.  But knowing Disney, it's going to be much higher.

They've definitely got a lot riding on this, with the recent Broadway musical, it all feels planned and orchestrated.

It's a beloved film, so easy cash grab for them all. But, will it be just as good as the first or better is the question.

Typical Hollywood.!!!

Do you think they are going to put it on their 2025 slate?

I can def see Disney opening up the checkbook wider thinking near $100 million in production budget is needed.

The major studios are getting crazy with their budgets while complaining to shareholders.

It seems more and more movies are being reported as going over budget.
