It is because many conflate the title with belting. Instead the title is about what she can do with her voice and that leading to her and it (her voice/abilities) to be as influential as it is. Many don't get that she is an interpretative singer as well. So they get confused why she isn't singing the same way on all songs or belting on all songs.

The comments of r&b money podcast when a guest mentions her in their top 5 r&b singers always leads to a lot of debates in the comments because the average ear doesn't get why she is so influential.

Tank chimed in on twitter months ago to let somebody know that he and J "do this" for a living so they basically got the ear. Thus, he said she is "gifted" and not many as gifted as her.

Quote from: Justice Jackson on July 18, 2024, 01:07:50 PMYeah that's just how she feels about the STRENGTH and POWER behind a title such as "vocal Bible"...

But as usual, people don't really understand the meaning behind it.. It speaks to all of the different things she can do and how studied she is (which Madison acknowledges) and it's not about powerhouse vocals, sales, etc

Madison just doesn't get it but they rag tagged her by the balls so.. Moving on

Yeah Brandy has and will always get that pushback because she isn't and has never been seen as a "loud" singer. It is what is is so starz shouldn't get upset.

But singers have always said that she makes what she does sound easy but it isn't. I remember when NSN came out and that haunted vocal she does on Angel in Disguise gagged the girls. But many said it isn't an easy thing to do.

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Brandy was given her title for a reason, and dismissing it because she isn't a belter shows a lack of understanding. Critics who do this are simply jumping on the bandwagon of hate. If people knew the original intention behind her title, there would be no confusion or misinterpretation.

People are allowed to disagree and have an opinion...but to have an opinion based on an assumption of what you THINK the title means and not knowing what it was intended to mean is silly.

If someone wants to say she's not The Vocal Bible because her vocal style isn't the most intricate or nuanced, that I would accept (even if I disagree) because at least you have some understanding as to what the title represents. But saying she isn't because she's not a belter just shows how the term just completely goes over their heads and they equate belting to being supreme because they are casual listeners who don't know music.

There is no point in people having their own criteria for what a Vocal Bible is because they term never even existed before it was coined for Brandy. People just need to get tf over it.

This reminds me of the video of Jennifer Hudson trying to sing "Without You"

bvcccccx babe pepple dont need to get over their own opinion hun. regardless of the origin, people have taken the term (a very broad term) and applied their own criteria-- as society does. so you can't get mad when people simply dont share that opinion, again regardless of origin. yall just need to get over it babe. bran is still gon be bran regardless.
