I know it's been posted before, but it was actually a new acoustic remix which they used the original Brandy vocals for.
This is mixed with the actual Darkchild instrumental


Gotta say Monica did add something to the song, but it's still nice to hear the original take

Monica simply added attitude and argument to the track.
It was very needed and necessary for this song to hit like it did and still does.
I feel like she actually pushed Brandy to come out swinging with her vocals, especially towards the end.

I do not like the single version. I can't even listen to it all the way through.
I just love the back and forth, tit for tat dragging each other. It's more realistic.

It's actually crazy what Monica brought to the record though. Especially, at the time with them both being so hot and all the supposed rumors.

I know when they cut that final mix they knew they had something special.

But who woulda thought, #1 for 13 weeks..and a Grammy...ack!

It's weird how she's holding back for most of the song but randomly goes in on some of the ad-libs. It's definitely sounding like demo vocals
