i sometimes cringe when people on this forum group all white people together as thinking ONE WAY
or for any race
it's frustrating

!!! i have learned to avoid those threads or just not go in them all together cause alot of ppl on this forum do that.. its soo many that when u point it out they all attack you and u cant get yourself outta it

It's only a recent thing where people come at White people as a whole, but people of all races are so quick to defend them.
You can literally go on any page and see white people dragging black people in all the comments talmbout "thugs" "welfare" "obama" etc.,

but when its about the other way people be so quick to defend

and white people make blanket statements about black people all the time.
I HATE THAT with a passion. I think we should try to condition ourselves to be mindful of that.

This isn't about making people feel comfortable on this forum, etc.
This is about protecting YOUR perception of race, in general. Not letting blanket statements cloud your judgement. That's it.

no one is lumping everyone together when they say those kind of things. why should people preface every comment with "most" and
"some" just to make y'all comfortable? especially when you know their main point

It's not about trying to make anyone comfortable. I wasn't offended by the blanket statement.
To me, It's about conditioning yourself to be MINDFUL of it.

There's many times I've heard blanket statements about black people, that I KNOW to be unfair and untrue, but was set forth as a "matter of fact". It was hurtful. And I noticed it created a perception, that lingered and settled into the minds of ignorant individuals.

So for me, anytime I hear blanket statements... it's just a sensitive thing for me, cause I see what seeds can be planted. For any race. Asian, black, white.

Just state the facts, and be mindful.

I almost want to cry over this because I feel like my true intent is being twisted or misunderstood.

Blanket statements about (insert any race) people is not progressive or helpful.
It actually helps create stereotypes, false perceptions, etc.

That's the point I'm trying to make.
