Chase J.

One of Niv's best friends from childhood.

He's signed to Roc Nation as a songwriter

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated to be only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

She turned down I Should've Cheated and vocally she's way better than Keyshia. She crazy as hell.

i think it went to the right person

keysh brought a very needed grittiness and rawness to the track

i honestly cant hear anyone else singing it

id even argue that the song did what it did because keyshia sung it, the way she sung it

kinda like the way "love" blew up cuz everyone was singing that lil perfectly placed crack in her voice in the chorus

Scott.

Yes. Keyshia was the right choice for "I Should Have Cheated"

Niv never declined on that record.

Jive didn't think it was a strong record so they passed on it.
Daron and Q from 112 have subliminally and lowkey hinted at Nivea's version being better.

I can tell at how Q described both on We Sound Crazy podcast.

Dee

But yea Keyshia was made for that song.

However Nivea MURDERS Keysh' vocally

Dee

Singing like THIS at 15/16 is what gagged me and made a stan at such a very young age.
