I think read somewhere that his tour slayed too.

stillpretty

one thing that can't be denied is his talent

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated to be only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Imagine where he'd be if that mess with Rih never happened. He was on his way to possible MJ status.

i used to wonder that for points
he's so immensely talented and charismatic and just .... special

but ...it's not like he was involved in a random car crash that broke his leg and prevented his ability to entertain moving forward
maybe a situation like that would def warrant a "wow what if..." tea.

especially considering that in this type of situation, he would indeed be a victim.

but chris brown is just who he is.

it's usually not a "one and done"/isolated situation for people with the types of issues he seems to have.
he's kinda proven that over the years - seeming to continuously find himself in situations that further support conclusions made about him

so im pretty confident that if it wasn't the Rihanna situation, it woulda been something else.

I was just about to come back and say this.

It's an unfortunate truth.

Chris makes hits! And he's consistent and prolific af.
I wouldn't put him in an MJ category though because those days feel gone to me.
I was trying to think of songs in the last decade that could be "classics"
and I couldn't think of much.

Everything now is very "instant" and "catchy" and for the moment.
A lot of pop culture references and sexuality. It's popular for
a year or so, maybe gets used in a TV show...
Then it fades.

Harlem

Idk y'all, Chris got some classics. I was listening to 'Liquor' the other day and I had to repeat that shit a few times. New Flame too and a few of them songs from the X album

i think he def has "classics" too

Honestly a lot of people probably just need to update their definition of "classic"

At its core the only real qualification is a consensus that a song that was released 10-20 years ago still goes hard today and still sounds fresh and fun

Chris has a lot of those . Deuces def comes to mind as one

A lot of pop music is based on what's trendy. What sounds and producers are "in" at the moment. Whether that was disco, dance, hip-hop , a fusion of all those genres lol , etc.

So Chris following trends shouldn't disqualify him as long as the songs still are a bop in 2024

His biggest song of the moment:

#1 on Rythmic Radio

He's really put out some :flamebroiled:

And the way this had a resurgence :loose2when:

Chris certainly has classics and hits. I am still a regular listener of him and enjoy his music, but these overstuffed albums are redundant. He would have had a greater impact if he had drastically cut back on the number of tracks and just presented an iconic body of work that told a story.

I love the way Bruno Mars is being presented. I just feel like he has done a lot with much less output. His releases are more intentional, and the records have a more timeless feel to them.

I highly doubt it happens but I would love for Chris to return next with an entirely new sound and approach next era.
IDK, Robyn's Back!!!🥂
