it makes me wonder..did they do it to make her look more racially ambiguous
( i was honestly shocked to discover who the actress was and how she really looked)

or did they feel that a darker complexion would be perfect for an evil character

knowing how chinks operate and knowing one of them was at the helm of the shows original creation
im kinda leaning towards the latter theory.

She always appeared Latina to me growing up. Mexican or sum. I had no idea she was Asian. So if anything they weren't trying to make her appear "Black" .... Just not Asian

now hol tf up

if the gorls can accuse Tyler Perry of similar MESS

why cant we question people literally SPRAY PAINTING this hoe to a different color for her to be the show's main antagonist?  :omgwatshappening:

id accept this as a possibility tbh

there was def some type of reason for them tanning her so dark.

Yea I'm sure there was some colorism involved. Honestly the pictures you posted of the actress outside of the costume look like she also put on that extra white geisha makeup

RAY7

Also I always thought she had a hat on her head but looks like that's supposed to be gray hair twisted into pigtails

njnjjnnjnjnjjnj :woohoo:

id say Lonz's theory is a strong possibility too

cuz as a child i dont remember "assigning" her to any type of race

like i didnt think she was black, or asian or white or hispanic
she was just Rita. that could have been intentional.

whereas u can look at the other characters (rangers) and clearly identify/place them.
which im sure was intentional as well. something tells me the Black ranger actually being Black wasn't coincidence.

but im def leaning more towards my original theory on Rita cuz of WHO created the show. :receipts:
