im watchin this video which discusses Keyshia's history as an artist/personality

and towards the end they mention Keyshia hasn't really received awards
with a clip of keyshia saying the same thing herself

and i'm thinking no fucking way she doesn't hold a BET award
or an NAACP tea :uhh: that don't even SOUND right. so lemme search the internet and get that mess contradicted.

Although awards and trophies shouldn't validate  an artist, it's still shocking that she doesn't have at least ONE.

Especially since she carried EBT on her back for years and brought them their best tv ratings ever. They never even gave her an EBT Award mess

She definitely can say 2 things:

- This doesn't reflect her bank account(which is the most important thing)

- She doesn't have an award mess, but managed to be acknowledged with a nod from the highest award show in music history(Grammys)

Keyshia is probably a few checks away from living in her car like homegirl from Envogue. I don't believe these 90s and 00s artists are as rich as we think they are.

Nonetheless, Keyshia absolutely deserved an EBT award at minimum. Her song with Diddy was on constant replay on the radio. So was her song Love.

Keyshia has always had talent and she has a unique voice, but her career wasn't managed well....that's why she's so underrated

but can we really say it was mismanaged if she made it so far?

she wasn't a flop or a one hit wonder.
career-wise i'd say she's actually good. 20 years separated from her debut, she can still tour and make money off the foundation that was built for her.

i think it's a case of the gorls simply not giving her flowers that she deserves

Keyshia is never the #1 girl out there
It's not that shocking to me and there are other artists with similar results
Like SWV (I know they're a group) but they actually had a #1 single and never won an award until the Soul Train tribute. It's just always somebody overshadowing them

It used to bother me a lot but I made peace with it. When I think of artists like Tamia or Teedra Moses....it could be so much worse.
