I don't like this narrative forming in here as if she just sounds COMPLETELY different live. In a very large part, Amerie pretty much sounds like the recording. She's just hitting bum notes here and there. And we're also forgetting that although she looks great, Amerie is 45 year old. NONE of these girls that we like are sounding exactly like they did 20 years ago. Beyonce, Brandy, NOBODY! I think that Ameries voice has held up pretty fckn well. This isn't a case of studio magic/autotune: her voice is reminiscent of the track as her tone and pitch are very similar but she sounds a fucking mess live and should consider a different key instead of squeezing out vocals to match the exact song. Does this help clarify?
