and is now accusing the younger guy of being a scammer, unrealistic or whatever

"scamming" implies deceit of some sort. he didn't lie to you or give you a sob story. he asked for bday money. it was your choice to say yes or no, not run to the internet and say he's a scammer.

at what point do you realize that your expectations are unrealistic and that you, as someone way older than him should be embarrassed to even share this story. let alone try to use it as ammo to expose and humiliate him

He's 27 years younger than you. Like the age difference in ITSELF is as old as he is.

 He might think that you're getting something valuable out of the deal (getting to fuck/date someone much younger...which a lot of men VERY MUCH find value in...kinda weird especially when it's a huge gap, but many do)

and he wants to feel compensated with something of value too.

some people are just a lot more upfront with being transactional in relationships/dealings with men. that doesn't make him a "scammer".

He doesn't sound like a scammer.  Scammers lie in order to get what they want.  He was being VERY honest about what he wanted, money.

i'd say calling this man a "scammer" and giving out his name after providing context that clearly isn't scammy, is flirting with "defamation of character".

this guy is actually the OPPOSITE of a scammer. he was extremely upfront with him. didn't wrap the request in a sob story, or a marriage proposal
he said "it's my birthday, gimme money."
