Zohran Mamdani's election as New York City's mayor-elect -— as  commentator-extraordinaire Mark Levin recently said — is surely a sign of  the Democratic Party's shift toward the "radical, big-government socialist party."
Indeed, in our view, Levin correctly referenced the win as evidence of the national Democratic Party's embrace of an extreme left-wing agenda.

The day before the Trump administration captured and extradited Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, many on the right (including yours truly) had a field day mocking something the newly minted mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, said during his inaugural address.

The proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America proclaimed: "We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism."

The phrase "warmth of collectivism" offended many of us because "collectivism" is widely understood as a generic label for extreme left-wing political systems.

The final tally: Assembly member Zohran Mamdani comfortably won the Democratic primary with 56% of the vote. In 2021, current Mayor Eric Adams eked out his win by less than a percentage point.

While Mamdani's margin can be taken as a solid rebuke of the current establishment politics, caution would be prudent in interpreting this as a massive shift by the electorate towards the extreme left in NYC, or in inferring similar voter sentiments nationally.

Both parties are full of shit. All they do is pander and use people as political pawns. They act like a bunch of overgrown children pointing the fingers at one another and blame each other instead of coming up with logical solutions. Then they're sitting back and watching people argue with one another online while sipping their cosmos while laughing their asses off. Our government doesn't give a flying fuck about us.
