Even if he wanted something more, it looks like he was just using harmless flattery and bonding language to crack the door a little bit. Just pay it and keep it pushing. Say Thanks, I hope we do great professional work together, etc. If you're already employed no need to visit the casting couch. They cut him loose because they knew he was going to be a problem and they were right
