i always thought it was an oddly interesting title so i researched the significance of it

He wrote the song in a hotel room during a tour stop in Russia while he was facing criminal investigation related to child rape accusations

it hit only 93 on the Hot 100 making it his lowest charting single on the chart

which is crazy cuz this is absolutely beautiful. maybe it being so R&B-infused had something to do with it

The song portrays the emotions of disillusionment, alienation, isolation, betrayal, anguish and loneliness. It is a song of struggle and triumph. This ethereal, lavishly mellodic, haunting ballad was produced out of chaos in Michael Jackson's life written in response at the time he was being accused of child sex abuse. The song is about a man who is trying to have his voice heard while he is being crucified by the media.

i think king deserves a new trial in the court of public opinion

back then the gorls weren't as savvy with how tabloids operate
and were much more easily manipulated by anything they read.

this song/video comes across as someone being genuinely hurt and disappointed , and misunderstood...and silenced

then for those accusers to come forward with Oprah years later thinking they were about to MESS, only for HOLES to be poked all in their stories ...and Oprah QUIETLY scrubbing the entire mess from her network/social media pages cuz she knew something wasn't right.

im glad the gorls arei kinda backtracking a bit

i think many of us were guilty of simply eating whatever was put in front of us

"Wacko the Jacko! Loves to touch kids!"

if it was in print it had to be true.

then we had all of the comedians running with it, putting the jokes in shows/movies....it really turned into a "fact"

but how many people have actually taken a close look and examined the tea

if nothing else, Oprah RUSHING to get rid of that special she did after very real inconsistencies of stories were quickly pointed out just proves that maybe if this happened to Mike in times where the media didn't have ALL the control..... and intelligent regular people with social reach were able to get in the ring for him and fight with facts....things may have been different.

Mike deserves the biggest apology ever, his name was dragged through the mud with false accusations for 30+ years by opportunists who wanted to make easy money. This song may not be his best but it's still very creative

And yes, I would agree the second case was parents trying to get money, but that first case was settled. Mike could've proven his innocence. He never did.
