Okay, so I just saw "The Drama" tonight, and I have some mixed feelings about it...

Honestly, her "secret" actually surprised me. It was close to what I was expecting, but somehow even darker than I thought. That said, once that reveal happened, the movie kind of lost momentum and just drifted. It felt like not much was really happening after that point, like it was just stretching itself out until the ending.

There was so much more they could've done with that premise, and it never fully leaned in. The climax and ending were good, but even then, it still felt like it only scratched the surface of what it could've been.

And honestly, this is kind of my ongoing issue with A24 films... they get so close to something great, but rarely land it all the way. I always leave feeling underwhelmed by the execution.

This could've easily been a psychological thriller, if they really wanted to MESS.

Yes and no..

I'd gently recommend watching it but I don't recommend paying to see the mess. Just wait till it's on streaming services.

Zendaya makes a lot of odd movie choices tbh

If we're being completely honest... Zendaya is simply not that great of an actress.

I can't remember a single TV show or movie of hers where I ended up saying "wow" after it ended.

She honestly got where she is due to her great looks and fashions. Which is more than fine, I'm not mad at it.

klappa.

I think you might be right... I still love her though.

Robert did absolutely OUTSTANDING. Zendaya did well too.. the role kinda just felt almost like an extension to Rue (her character on Euphoria). She always kinda play these eclectic/alternative weird Black girl roles. And it just kinda feels like typical Zendaya at this point.
