I was watching this unofficial "unsung" doc last week and it details how they created a gofundme trying to raise like 100K

A few of the gorls showed up for them but it was far from their goal. Like 2K raised

I love this lil doc though. Especially how it breaks down how a lane was carved out for them. They really did manage to have a tea of their own - even when the market was saturated with girl groups

they were  a bit more sensual and soft than SWV imo

SWV had that sensual thing going but they were known more for SANGING on songs.

like u could get in a groove but you'd also have Coko BLOWING you tf away. one of the things i remember most about SWV is her wailing for points on "Weak"

i mean their name was Sistas With Voices so that makes sense.

but there's def something special about songs like "I Like It"

it's like intentionally super soft and smooth. not there to impress u too much with vocal gymnastics (even though Athena clearly has the chops to go there) but just kinda whisking u away a bit very softly and relatively undisturbed.

That's another reason they gave me SWV. All of them could sing but the lead was really the standout.
