some outlets tried to frame Janet's absence/distance from the project as some sort of jealousy which was kinda disgusting and not even logical considering how well documented their close relationship is

I knew it was because Michael is so very near and dear to her as her brother. If anything her being the one who was absent out of all the siblings made perfect sense considering history

I can imagine this is very very sensitive and potentially triggering for her as someone who was forced to continue living her life without him . Her being selective as to when and what she wants to engage in regarding him is more than understandable.

They were the closest even though their careers/popularity drifted them apart as they grew older. I know the closeness he felt with her was not only because of their blood, but also the fact that so few in the world could relate to what they felt. It makes sense that she saw through the bs from the jump, she even mentioned how she tried to have an intervention so that also separated them when he had bad people around him saying otherwise.
