This is a bit silly.

Aretha, MJ, Stevie, Bey, Jay, Alica Keys & Kanye are among the most awarded in history.

The Grams' have become more white leaning only in the last 8 years. And that's more a reflection of how WHITE, radio has become (still annoyed "Hello" gets heavy airplay on urban stations). The Grammys, in recent years, has become more and more about who is being played on radio, like the Billboard Awards, which sucks because that ends up leaving out a lot of deserving black artist. It starts with radio.

The Oscars have a 86 year history of non-inclusion. Not the same.

out of the 7 names you listed only 2 have won Album of the Year
on the surface it looks great cuz they win a lot
but they really just throw them all the same best R&B vocal awards every year and give the general Album/Record/Song of the year awards to the whites

This is very true NOW.

But Stevie & Aretha ran the Grammy's in the 60's & 70's. Micheal in the 80's. Prince, Whitney & Janet won 4 or 5 that decade. Seal won Record and Song of the Year at the same ceremony in '95. Lauryn won Album of the Year later in the decade.

I don't know...we've been pretty celebrated in at the Grams, overall. Of course there have been some snubs.

Y'all don't see how wins coincide with airplay, these days? Jazmine deserves every award she's nominated for this year but I'm scared because outside of the R&B lovers, who on the committee is gonna vote for her? Because she didn't have radio hit this era. No known single that people can attach to the album and say "Omg! That's right! Reality Show was a great album!"

We're not celebrated by the Grammys! Stop the lies. Just because your fave has many awards isn't any indication. They snub traditional black artists EVERY time.

One Of Those Nights.

We need to get over this. We look like complainers. It is actually going to take back the progress we are making at the Oscars and make us look like we bitch about everything.

Blacks are some of the most awarded artists at the Grammy's. Beyonce has 17 fucking Grammy's for fucks sake.

The host has been black (LL Cool J) for HOW many years now?

The tribute this year is to a black man and before he died, his group Earth, Wind, and Fire were already getting the legend award.

Now, the Oscars is a no brainer. They throw blacks a scrap every once in a while to keep us quiet.

But the Grammy's? Shuddup.

One Of Those Nights.

Ain't got shit to do with my fave. In fact, Self-Titled being snubbed for AOTY to fukin Beck is reason for me to be on your side of the argument. :kii:

But I'm not gonna sit here and say they've PAID us throughout history. It ain't true!
