Stop buying them. We try to support black R&B and all they do is promo hard in the first week and go home to get on bed rest. I'm not doing it no more and I'm mad I wasted my damn money.

Gilgamesh.

How is that gonna help? I'm sure a lot of these artists want to keep doing promo but their labels don't give them the financial support to do so.

There are so many ways to create promo opportunities without spending a lot of coin.

No they can do stuff. First of all, everybody first singles was terrible because all they thought about was themselves. They can think of ways to promote but want the label to do everything. They told y'all they was just releasing the mess with no promo so they should have had things in line. I'm sick of buying all these great flop albums and they just sit on them.

True but i'm starting to realize most artists know that. They sing and look cute, it's management and the label that are supposed to promo the mess.

Right. These artists are just fucking lazy and I'm not spending shit on Em. Look at Future and Chris, they do mostly everything by themselves.

If you know must of your budget is going on producers and writers, make she you walk out with a hit. Chris get more promo because they know he will work and they don't have to fund him with nothing but studio time.

So u dont want them to flop and ur thought is to not buy their album which is going to ensure they do just that. Yea, this thread is senseless and im kinda done posting in here

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Buy an album because you like it, not because it's popular. No fan can predict a promo strategy, if everyone thought your way, no albums would be purchased until after all of the promo is done. Everybody likes to sit on the internet and play A&R, but at the end of the day, these artists are not recouping off sales and then aren't able to go on tour if they cannot get enough sponsors. And it works hand in hand, if companies don't see you selling albums they are not going to believe that you can sell tickets and merchandise and therefore are very unlikely to sponsor your tour. These artists do what they can to promo their shit without money - it's call social media posts. The music business is a BUSINESS and in business it takes money to make money. If the label is not willing to INVEST in the album, then the album, the promo and the era are dead on arrival.
