am mean, this angela davis mess is clearly a ploy  :dead:

but it's not like she could articulate some sort of political stance in an interview or anything, so I guess doing it via her music makes more sense.
intent is not nearly important as impact.

Her silence regarding police brutality and discrimination up until now kind of works against her. I can't ever recall her speaking out against in any interview, it's all catch phrases and one music video. And now that she is "speaking out"... the conversation turns to her intent and and the real issues get buried.

She did the same thing when the feminist thing was in vogue. I can appreciate an artist bringing a message, but I can smell the bullshit too.
