I know in the black community, mental health is seen as 'weakness'
It doesn't adhere to our communities values of pride and strength
We'd rather rely on the church and other religious/spiritual institutions rather than seeing someone about our mental health
Should black people get free mental health care and therapy?
With the consistent negative images and sublimals messages being shown on the media, textbooks, social conditioning, forced culture assimilation, miseducation, modern attitudes towards blacks, it's definitely having an effect on how we see ourselves, other people, it shapes our attitudes towards education, employment, definitely has a bearing on our social economic status.
The Jewish folk recieved, their repairations, apology, and more importantly a way of healing, strengthening their self esteem and pride within themselves, their cultures and their communities, and look how self empowered and they are
