Can I just say how much I love the fact that our women are openly, expressively and beautifully embracing their natural hair? Some ignorant people say it's "an act of defiance" .... "going against the grain!" .. "she's angry :diddraispoot: ".

No, she's a black woman who has realized that she has the same right to grow her hair from her head as a white or Latina woman has -- without DRENCHING it in harmful chemicals just to get it to LOOK like a white or Latina's hair. Their hair is unique to them and why the fuck wouldn't they want to rock it?

It's beautiful. And I for one think it makes a black woman look very intelligent and strong (I know I'm not the only one who sees that. :dead:  )

And this came to mind because there are a couple beautiful natural hair women at my job. I don't know why but it just makes me so happy and proud seeing them walk around a corporate environment, with their tightly coiled hair, nicely styled, elegant.....showing everyone that our African roots are beautiful and no less professional than any other race's tresses.

Applying heat to your hair is one of the worst things you can do to it.
it's like cooking it. very harmful manipulation
