Gilgamesh.

is a fad or will it make some positive changes in the industry?

i sometime wonder if the powers that be are just throwin us scraps to make us happy.

Iono, i think it's something that could potentially be a real change.  Minorities no longer seem to be taking it.  Id love to see a surge in shows for everyone.  I don't watch either but im glad fresh off the boat and telenovela got a chance
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

It depends.

In the 90s we had alot of black shows and then they disappeared for a while until Tyler Perry stepped in and now more shows of substance are popping.

But idk if I'd call shows with one black lead a black shows. Since I feel like the content shows with one black lead differs greatly from shows with a black cast.

A fad, sadly. The ratings of all the shows are dropping. I can't see Scandal going much longer. And as much as I like, Empire. I think the ratings will get even worse. I think it'll have the same run as Glee.

After the oscar controversy, i think they'll make a concerted effort not to piss us all off. they'll be a bit more covert, and maybe fire blacks behind the scenes but i think we'll continue to see black actors getting work on primetime n things.

I think we will start seeing more indie content from black filmmakers though like Black & Sexy TV.
