TV Land has ordered a pilot script for Heathers, an anthology dark comedy series based on the cult 1988 film. Set in the present day, Heathers  centers on Veronica Sawyer ? the character played in the movie by Winona Ryder ? who will be dealing with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. Dating a murderous psychopath and figuring out what to wear to your best friend?s suicide are typical teen problems for her. The script is written by Jason Micallef (Butter). Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment.

Heathers marks the first anthology series project for TV Land. It also marks the latest attempt to mount a Heathers TV series reboot, most notably a sequel series written by Mark Rizzo and supervised by Jenny Bicks which was in the works at Bravo.

The Clueless TV show (based off the movie) was good but the networks treated it horribly.  It could have easily had another 2 or 3 seasons. I wanted to see Cher, Dionne, Murray, Sean and Amber go to college and shit. 

Hopefully this Heathers TV show slays because the movie is ICONIC.
