So true. I think it's just a matter of miseducation. I'm from the same rural South as she is and I can tell you first hand, LGBT issues and such are not discussed. It's something hidden and frowned upon. If you're homosexual, you're afraid of losing your job, your standing in the community. These sanctimonious Christians don't want homosexuals teaching their children, singing in their churches, treating their medical conditions. Very backwards thinking, so it's something not talked about. She just doesn't know. I've learned a lot myself from lurking on this message board.
