The DNA match confirmed as a Dumas descendant. A DNA match of mine took my DNA and ran it against his relatives.
I popped as a match. It's where our confirmed relation lies.
Also, this is nothing new or something edgy and fun I decided to claim. I figured this out in December through little clues here and there. But it was still a bit cloudy to me, and highly speculative. So I wasn't really ready to full out claim it. (And I'm glad I didn't, Melungeons are very very similar to Creoles but we have our own identities.) I was 85% right.

That's the thing about me. I really don't feel comfortable claiming something or calling myself something confidently and full on until I know it's really really true. I mean, isn't that the whole point of DNA testing and research to begin with?
