I honestly think it's the other way around and she uses her acting to keep her music career relevant. Because even when there are no albums being talked about, she has consistently booked tv jobs. I am not about to just drag Brandy at this point. Artistically, she is at the best point she has been at in 10 years. And what rights would Breyon have with a TBIM remix? This statement had many holes. I don't see a label like Sony dropping her twice and then offering a third deal....when they could have renegotiated the terms the first two times. To be honest, the Sony albums were the worst of her career.

The news of this suit was released way after the singles was released and weeks before this video release. There are way more scandals Brandy could use to sell her music...hell, she could probably get a million dollars for an exclusive interview just around that Whitney note.

I'm not buying this. And when has she talked directly about this on social media?

and to me, music is not in the forefront or as important to her as it used to be

I'm just not getting how everyone is overlooking the fact that there is a lawsuit pending around her being free to release music.
Am I the only one who recognizes that per her and now Breyon, it's been at least 3 years since they have been on good enough terms for her to be free to release music.
Let's not get it confused here, there was an entire EP planned, she has been consistently recording since 2/11's promo ended. She is making music, she just can't release it.

Do I think there was period where she didn't want to do music anymore? Yes, but that was after Human and that other tragic incident I will not say. That is not the Brandy of 2/11 era and today, IMO. To me, she wants to release music and has said so, but she doesn't want to promise us anything that she knows she cannot guarantee.

I'm sure she could release an album today, but like Breyon's statement says, he may be able to swipe it from Itunes with a cease and desist. Who really wants that to be a possibility?

If anyone can promote music, do a tv show, and a daytime talk show. It's Brandy. She has done it all before simultaneously and it was done quite well.

I question just how much a fan some of you really are; some of you jump at each and every opportunity to throw tomatoes at Brandy.
If we could all just sit back and enjoy the art, we may just enjoy being a fan a lot more.
This is a legal issue that must be decided in court. It's not just as simple as her breaking away, signing a new deal, and releasing music and videos with a big budget.
I think she is finally make the smartest business moves and not letting her emotions and feelings for people affect the way she handles her affairs.
Not everyone who says they support you is a real supporter.
Breyon broke his neck to get a deal with Brandy. Let's be clear here. If he didn't believe he could make money off her under this "production" deal, he would never have signed her to a multi- album deal. It just doesn't make business sense.
Regardless of how many records she sells, Brandy is an ICON and a brand. Like Sean Garret said, she can tour all over the world and be fine, she is not just stuck with the states.
The machines left/failed Brandy in 2004. Her name alone has sustained her career, hit or not.
A slew of great performances and hit singles will put her right where she needs to be. She just needs to continue to believe in herself and trust her process. She cannot waiver to the likings of labels, producers, or Starz.
Everyone here is record executive and manager to tell her what look she should have, what sound she should have, what manager she should have, what label she should sign with, what video director to choose, where to perform, how to perform, what choreographer to hire, what writer to take sessions with. At the end of the day, Brandy is the artist. Let her create. Enjoy the product.
That's not to say we can't voice our opinions. But sometimes many people on here get upset about stuff they really don't understand.
