Meh, tbh these shows are only for entertainment purposes imo. Truthfully I don't look for representation in them. I remember getting so frustrated about the lack of black people when I watched daytime soaps. I stopped watching and it was all for the better. But I definitely understand Bent's approach.

Now I do feel you and agree as well, cause I think when it's our ONLY representation, it sucks. And whites have all those soaps

not too mention that between Jeffery and Jamal on both shows all black men are just portrayed as confused closet cases that were mentally, verbally, and physically abused by their parents who won't really love them unless they FORCE them to sleep with women

and why did Jamal's out and proud boy toy have to be latino, get Bow wow or Romeo to play his love interest.

and why is Jeffery in love with Wyatt and shunning the black love interests

Basically if you're black, better go find you something lighter to hold you down
