What is the point of a single?

To promote an album

The album is promotion for a tour.

So Bey has the #1 album in the country and in a hour about to start a sold out stadium tour.


All without a #1 single.

Meanwhile the gorls with #1 singles are barley filling arenas and have companies buying their album and still can't debut at #1.
